NPLI hosts nature focused events at Davos 2026
The Nature Positive Landscapes Initiative (NPLI) team was at the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year and hosted two nature-focused accredited events.
As the urgency to operate within planetary boundaries grows, nature-positive business models are emerging as a pathway to create value while regenerating ecosystems and sustaining growth. A new wave of partnerships and financing mechanisms is taking shape to integrate nature into core business and investment decisions.
We convened over 40 cross-sector leaders at a CEO Roundtable which aimed to move beyond rhetoric to actionable strategy. With an introduction from Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, this invite-only session brought together leaders from academia, civil society, finance, and industry to examine what it will take to scale business action that aligns profitability with ecological restoration and resilience.
We identified opportunities to embed nature-positive principles across high-impact sectors; discussed challenges in governance, measurement, and financing of business action for nature; and surfaced innovative collaborations that link environmental regeneration with long-term competitiveness. Outcome driven, this was an opportunity for the NPLI to advance what Nature Positive truly means for businesses, offering clarity, leadership and actionable insights and our Davos events, the first in a series of global convenings, successfully moved the conversation forward.
